Celebrating the small wins...

This last weekend was all about celebrating our achievements and by God did we celebrate!

JFDI - Just Friggin Do It, became Just Friggin Drink it! ( thanks Scott Farrell for that )

While the party was terrific and the workout was hard but really good, my biggest win was in the plane on the way up.

Last time I was in a plane I had to ask for an extension belt and I was embarrassed and ashamed.

This was one of my first goals, not to EVER have to ask for that extension belt again.

I got to my seat and I put on the belt and had at least 4 inches to spare!! I was so happy I took a photo to remember.

Watching the winners of #12wbt was inspirational, they have inspired me to work really hard in Round 3 to achieve my best results so far and by goodness I am going straight back to Just Friggin Do It and water will be my only drink of choice !

The Power of a Team

Today was City to Surf Day- just another day to me normally but today was different. I am still new to exercise and only just started to train about 4 months ago and still am obese, so I know the C2S was beyond my current capabilities. I have done an 8k walk and an 11k walk, both flat so my goal is to do C2S next year.

This morning when I woke up, I turned on the TV and watched the C2S- I was looking for purple shirts ( signature colour of our 12WBT team colours) !

I loved watching the look on everyones faces as they crossed the finish line.

I love the look on Kurt Fearnley's face as he crossed, what an amazing achivement for an amazing athlete!

I watched the male winner and then the female winner cross and could see the jubilation in their faces. I watched the faces of every person who crosseed that finish line.

I wasnt there, but I think I understood how they may have felt, how I may have felt if that was me.

4 months I couldnt give a stuff, but now I was really excited about the goals everyone has set and had achieved.

Everyone has different levels of fitness and has different goals on what they wanted to achieve.

I got off my arse and went to the gym, I had my 12wbt purple shirt on of course!

I did my best time on the bike for 10k and also on the Xtrainer, pretty ordinary times compared to others but I am not here to compare, I am going to do my best and be inspired by the best of others!

The highlight of the day was coming home from the gym and reading on Facebook about everyones achivements and congratulating them all on how well they all did.

I dont even know many of these people personally ( my 12wbt team, my new friends ) and the people I do know- I am so proud of you all - because we all have a similar aim, we are all working to be the best versions of ourselves, no matter what level we are at.

Congratulations to everyone who did the C2S today, what an amazing achievement and you should all be so proud, and I will be proud to join you next year to feel the exhiliration you all felt today.

24kg down and what now?

What now? geeze cant you just celebrate the massive achivement of losing 24kilos?

Just stop and think a sec.........

In Feb 2011, your life was predictable, you went to work, you had one or two bottles of wine nearly every day, you ate what ever in the hell you wanted and didnt give a stuff and nothing much happened, same shit different day.... but you were unhappy with how you looked and you couldnt go for a swim at the beach because you were embarassed about how you looked and have been for the past 10 years!

So whats different now?

I saw an advert for Michelle Bridges 12 week body transformation! I remember looking at this ad and thinking 'Well you can choose to do something or you can ignore this as you have done for the last 15 years of your life, what do you want to do?

I thought and I thought and I thought of every bloody reason and excuse why I should NOT do this, but I kept coming back to thinking "Karon, its time" You may be healthier than all your friends now even though you are obese but it wont last!

6 Months ago I wouldnt even walk 200m to the station, I would get to Wynyard and get the lift up because I was too friggin lazy to walk up 30 stairs, how shit is that??

Well no more............What have I done in the past 6 months?

Walked 8 km with Rod ( my biggest supporter) for the Mothers Day Classic in May and raised some money as well!

Did Dry July and didnt drink for 31 days July 2011 ( shit that was hard but I did it)

Walked 11km Sutherland to Surf with Anne Looby and cheered on by Deb and Graeme Stevens

I actually go to the gym and I try and do better every time I go. I am not embarassed to be a fat person in the gym, for Gods sake I am there to better myself I am not there to perve ( well maybe just a bit, those blokes who stand around and do fuck all are not that bad on the eye :-) )

I really need to thank all of my supporters, I cant do this without you, I always need support and a kick up the bum, but I am very confident I will do it , I will lose weight and be the best version of myself I can be!

Now I have started by blog, I am going to update every few days, so please stick with me, the journey will be worth it I assure you. :-)

kazza, karon, coxy1958 or any other name I go by!
